Desert Lynx Breed Profile
The Desert Lynx is a cross between a domestic cat and the wild american bobcat.
To be classed as true desert lynx the cats must be at least 12.5% bobcat.
Appearance

Bred to resemble the wild bobcat with ear tufts, neck ruff and similar coat
pattern.

Larger than the average domestic cat, with males growing up to 20 pounds and
females averaging around 12 pounds

Strong and Muscular frame

Coat length can be long or short.
Behaviour

Intelligence is higher than average, often exhibiting dog like behaviour,
following owners about the house, playing fetch and can be trained to walk with
a harness.

Like to play in water

An active breed that doesn't like to sit about all day

Very affectionate with owners.

Bond closely with the family but can be wary of strangers.

Not very vocal.
Highland lynx are are a development of the desert lynx which have curled ears
rather than the straight ears of the Desert Lynx.
